Can I get your service for just part of the year?Yes, SpeedNet offers seasonal service. Just let us know when you leave and we will stop your service billing. Call us when you return, and we will turn your service back on. It's just that simple. Since you are renting your modem from us, the nominal $7.00 per month modem equipment rental fee will continue to apply to your account during your absence. We also keep your email account working so you don't have to keep changing email addresses. Or if you have an existing email address, we can forward your mail to it.
Is my modem functioning properly?SpeedNet uses different modems in its service area. Some modems use a Ready light, others a Cable light. This light must be lit and steady for proper operation. If the cable or ready light is out or flashing check all modem connections including the power and other cables. Try resetting the modems power. Contact technical support if you cannot achieve a steady ready or cable light.
If you have one of our internal Non Line of Site Modems make sure your lights are not flashing at all, they must be solid. If they flash at the same time this normally means it does not see a connection to a device such as a router or computer. If they are flashing in sequence this means you have lost signal. External Non Line of Site Modems are harder to judge please contact our support team to have them look at your modem.
If you modem is showing a steady Ready or Cable light and you cannot surf the Internet the problem is more likely with your computer. Often a complete power reset will help.
